Below are some of the most popular pool surfaces with a brief
description and some sample pool shapes.

Please note that improper water balance is an enemy of all

Pool Surfaces

Plaster --
(also known as marcite, or whitecoat)
It is made of marble sand and white cement. It is a white hand
troweled finish and with proper maintenance of your pool, should
last from 10-15 years. Colored dye can be added to produce
different colors. The blue appearance of a white finish is due to
the reflection of the sky, in case you were wondering what makes
a pool look blue. Improper water balance is an enemy of all

Quartz--
(Some of the most popular brand names are Diamond brite,
Marquis, Kristal Krete, Gem coat) .
This finish is consists of small quarts rock and white cement. The
quartz rock comes in lots of different colors and produces a
speckled finish.

Exposed aggregate--
(Pebble Tec is the most popular brand name).
This is a tumbled rock that is slightly larger than the quartz.
(tumbled rock means the aggregate is smoothed of any sharp
edges.) This product is especially nice for custom pools with alot
of rock work or maybe a rock waterfall.
